The Bangladesh Country Project will produce three papers.
Paper 1 (2015)
This paper looks at the problems and prospects related to economic growth and employment patterns in Bangladesh by identifying the dominant sectors, firm and employee profiles, influential actors and possible future trajectories.
Paper 2 (2016)
This paper will provide an evaluation of GUK-Garments Project: A Private Skill Training Program and its impact on the quality and quantity of employment. This paper would be the main impact evaluation of the training program by employing rigorous empirical approaches and would highlight the cost-effectiveness, internal and external validity of such private sector targeted skill training program and, drawing important policy lessons. The paper will be based on the data from the baseline survey and the follow up survey during 2014-2015.
Paper 3 (2017)
This paper will look at the skill development and long term employment through stories of employees before and after the skill training provided by GUK-Garments project. This paper will employ both quantitative as well as qualitative techniques to understand the impact as well as systematically document the theory of change by utilizing case-study based approach. The paper will be based on the data from the baseline survey and the follow up survey during 2015-2016.
